5 Most Useful Things for Cleaning

Everyone is so used to have a closet fullof different cleaning supplies these days - multipurpose cleaner, bathroom cleaner, drain cleaner, carpet shampoo, dish cleaner, floor solutions... This list can go on. However, today I wanted to show you that you don't really need those raws of chemicals and can clean your house with things already buy for other purposes. So, here are my five favorite things to clean my house with.

Lemons1. Lemons

Yeah, they are not only for the lemonade. If you have marble countertops - they will help you get rid of some tough stains there. Since lemon juice is basically an acid, it has an ability to polish metals. So if you are trying to accomplish that sparkally shine on your metallic handles - all you need is a lemon (and a knife - you will need to the fruit)

2. Toothpaste

Toothpaste is a great thing to have handy - not to just make your dentist happy, but also get your house sprakly clean. If you have some lipstick or ink stains on your fabric - sofas, chairs, or clothes (ahem), then all you need is to put a little bit of toothpaste on a stain (make sure you use non-gel tooth paste), rub fabric together, and rinse with water. Repeat if needed.

It also helps with removing water stains from wood. So, if you had a spilling disaster all over you favorite and not-so-cheap Amish-made wooden table, tooth paste is your solution for removing those watermarks.

3. Venigar

Well, this one is housecleaning GOLD. From cleaning your blinds to banishing kitchen grease - this solution will be handy any time you need it. Read some of my other posts on how to make a good use of venigar at home.

4. Salt

Ditch it as your food addition - it is bad for your heart! Use it ifor cleaning purposes instead! Salt helps with cleaning discololored glass - vases, glasses, glass doors, windows - whatever! It also effectively removes wine and grease stains from carpet , watermarks from wood, lipstick from glasses. Possiblities are truly endless.

5. Baking soda

Baking soda is mostly used for whitening your surfaces - such as bathtubs and sinks, but it also can be used for such cleaning tasks as cleaning jewelry, wash wall papers and remove crayon (those little suckers!) Also, baking soda is good for removing impurities from the produce. Some apples and grapes are covered with wax for better appeal on the shelf. Before you induldge yourself with a fresh and sweet apple or grapes soak them for a minute or so in a water with 2-3 teaspoons of backing soda. This way you will know that you are eating fruit - not gross wax.

6. Cleaning Services

I know, I only promised 5. However, if you find yourself struggling to get everything done in 24 hours and cleaning gets pushed behind, you probably need to consider hiring a cleaning service. Make sure that they offer "green cleaning" though. You dont want yuky chemicals around your house, believe me.
